1) Quick promises (plain language)

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your financial data for ads or profiling.
• You can use SlateSpend without bank connections; it is manual or CSV import.

2) What we collect

A) Account and profile data

• Email address, name (if provided)
• Authentication and session data (for sign-in and security)

B) Your budgeting data (what you put into the app)

• Workspaces, categories, targets, assignments
• Accounts you create (cash, bank, credit), balances
• Transactions (date, payee, memo, amount, category, cleared status)
• Goals (including "why" text and optional vision images)
• Shared or household settings (members, roles, guardrails settings)

C) Imports you upload

• CSV files you upload and the mapped columns
• Staged import rows (including "needs review" and "duplicate" flags)

D) Notifications preferences

• Which alerts you enable for in-app vs email
• Quiet hours and snooze settings

E) Usage and device data (minimal)

We may collect basic operational data to keep the service secure and reliable (for example, request logs, rate-limit events, error traces). This helps prevent abuse and fix bugs.

3) How we use your data

• Provide core budgeting features (budget table, transactions, reports, etc.).
• Power Pro features, when enabled: Safe-to-Spend and forecasting, rules-based categorization, household guardrails, advanced reporting, backups and restore, and Health Inbox.
• Send notifications you request (in-app and or email).
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.

4) How we share data

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal data or your financial data.

Service providers (processors)

To run SlateSpend, we use trusted third-party service providers (for hosting, database, email delivery, and payments). They process data only to provide services to us and are contractually required to protect it.

We do not share your financial data with third parties for advertising or profiling.

Legal disclosures

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5) Data retention

• We keep your data while your account is active.
• You can request deletion (see Section 9).
• Backups and exports: if you enable scheduled backups, only the latest 3 backups are kept (paid plans) and restore replaces current workspace data.

6) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7) International users

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on our infrastructure providers.

8) Children's privacy

SlateSpend is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9) Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information
• Export your data (where supported)
• Object to or restrict certain processing
